Results are the Only Thing that Matters in Ed-Tech

The use of technology for an improved learning experience, or ed-tech, has become a hot topic in today’s world of education. Ed-tech makes use of several tools, such as multimedia and networking, to enhance the quality and delivery of education. At the end of the day, the only thing that really matters is how the students benefit from this technology and what results have been achieved.

An Introduction to Ed-Tech

Electronic education technology, also known as e-learning, involves the use of electronic devices to aid learning. Different methods of media distribution are used to share pictures, videos, text, and other mediums for transferring knowledge. Through the advent of technology, the information is available to the pupils almost anywhere. This promotes learning on the go and students do not have to be restricted to a classroom to learn.

Distance Learning Made Easier

Distance learning is perhaps the biggest advantage of ed-tech. Information and knowledge can be made available in this manner to those who cannot be inside a classroom. E-learning is slowly replacing other forms of education due to its many obvious advantages. One such advantage is that it is cost effective in the long run. It saves time and resources over the period of its use and delivers quality knowledge to the students.

How you teach your students matters a lot these days, and ed-tech is helping teachers teach their students in a better, more interactive way to achieve better results.

Making Education Easier

Computer based training (CBT), another aspect of Ed-Tech, is becoming very common these days as well. With this technique, programs stored inside a multimedia device such as a computer, tablet or even a mobile phone deliver instructions to the user. Every time help is required, the program will offer assistance regardless of the time and frequency of the questions.

Using ed-tech inside classrooms is also very beneficial as it encourages students to participate more because of its interactive nature. Having access to limitless information at your fingertips is a powerful tool in itself, which greatly improves the delivery of quality information.

Still Some Way to Go

Ed-tech requires a considerable initial investment in technology, although it will save money over time. It is also argued that ed-tech can never truly replace the real life teacher-student interaction. Programs are designed to cater to the needs of a generic population, and students with different needs can only be addressed by a teacher who can react to changing situations and circumstances.

Ed-tech only assists in learning and the user has to be fully committed and involved to take advantage of it. Thus, even the best e-learning techniques do not guarantee a great result for everyone. The learner has to practice self-accountability to monitor his or her progress.

All the stakeholders need to work together to provide quality education to those who require it. Ed-tech may not replace teachers but it can be a teacher’s best friend. Using ed-tech as an effective tool, quality knowledge can be provided to students which will boost the level of education. One should note that ed-tech is merely a tool, and how you use it will dictate what results are being achieved because at the end of the day that is the only thing that matters.
